Interview for TVN Warszawa, June 10th 2009

During the interview given on June 10th 2009, the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection explained that the issue of access to information on mayor’s remuneration was not regulated by the Data Protection Act, but by other legal provisions.

The Inspector General drew attention to the provisions of the Act on the access to public information, according to which it is the entity in possession of public information (and the information on mayor’s remuneration may be considered as such) that decides whether to disclose it and any controversies are decided upon by the court, which accepts complaints concerning the refusal to disclose said information.
