GIODO initiated proceedings against ZTM

Following the inspection carried out at the Warsaw Transport Authority (ZTM), on June 15 the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection decided to initiate ex officio proceedings concerning the processing of passengers’ personal data by ZTM.
GIODO carried out an inspection at ZTM, followed by specific requests directed to the Transport Authority.

However, due to different interpretation of the concept of personal data and of data protection provisions by GIODO and by ZTM, the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, Mr Michał Serzycki, decided to decided to initiate ex officio administrative proceedings concerning the processing of passengers’ personal data.

During the proceedings, GIODO shall publish no further information or comments on this issue.
