Scientific Conference on Internet Security, 16 June 2009

On 16 June 2009, Scientific Conference on Internet Security organised by the Centre for Research and Law and IT Education, Postgraduate Studies on Classified Information and Personal Data Protection, and the IT Law Department of the Law and Administration Faculty at UKSW (Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University) took place in Warsaw. The Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, Michał Serzycki, took honorary patronage of the Conference and delivered an inaugural speech on privacy on the Internet and the risks related to the use of new technologies. During 2nd plenary session, Andrzej Lewiński, Deputy Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, presented a paper on personal data protection in the context of social networking sites describing experiences of the Bureau of the Inspector General in this regard.

At the Conference, the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, Michał Serzycki, and Rector Magnificus Vice-Rector of UKSW, Rev. Prof. Dr Henryk Skorowski, concluded an Agreement on cooperation in the area of privacy and personal data protection. The parties to the Agreement undertook to cooperate in the field of privacy and personal data protection by organising seminars, conferences, training courses and student trainings, as well as by initiating scientific and research works on personal data protection.
