On 3 August 2009, Michał Serzycki, the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, participated in the „Morning Guest” programme („Gość poranka”) broadcast on TVP Info television station.
The programme was devoted to the protection of personal data on the Internet and was inspired by the court judgment in the case of nasza-klasa.pl networking site which did not immediately delete a false profile of the person demanding the deletion. The journalist Iwona Kutyna asked the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection among others how to safely use the Internet and how to protect our personal data on the Web. Michał Serzycki recommended to pay attention mainly to two things: what type of information on ourselves we publish on the Internet and what we consent to when clicking. He also advised the users to read the regulations of networking sites and online shops. „In many situations we act too recklessly” – he said.
