For TVN24 on safeguarding correspondence, 3 September 2009

The interview given by Michał Serzycki, the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, for TVN24 television station regarded proper safeguarding of correspondence.

The interview was conducted for the purposes of „Prosto z Polski” (“Straight from Poland”) programme by the journalist Magdalena Fusiek. GIODO explained that privacy of correspondence was the personal right of each citizen protected among others by the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, the Civil Code and the Postal Law.

The obligation to properly safeguard correspondence is also provided for by the provisions of the Act on Personal Data Protection, in particular those related to the obligation of adequate data protection.
