GIODO for TVP, 25 September 2009

The conversation held between GIODO and Katarzyna Sitnik representing TVP television station, for the purposes of „Między Ziemią a Niebem” (“Between Earth and Heaven”) programme regarded the agreement concluded between Michał Serzycki, the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, and the Secretariat of the Conference of the Episcopate of Poland.

GIODO presented the basic objectives of the signed document, indicating that it was a set of principles concerning the processing of personal data by the Catholic Church, resulting both form the Act on Personal Data Protection and the Canonic Code. The Guidelines contain information on obligations imposed on data controller, describe the risks related to the use of the Internet and the list of questions and answers to the most bothering problems regarding the processing of personal data in pastoral work. The Guidelines include also a glossary with basic terms on personal data protection.
