For TVN 24 on secure passwords, 15 September 2009

To avoid identity fraud on the Internet one should use adequate passwords when signing in – said GIODO during the interview given for TVN24.

The interview with the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, Michał Serzycki was conducted by Jarosław Kuźniar. He asked how to behave on the Web, so as not to become a victim of identity fraud. GIODO recommended to use different, properly built passwords when signing in to networking sites. He indicated that secure password shall be made up of 8 uppercase and lowercase letters and special characters, and shall not be easy to guess, as for example a series of digits 123456. GIODO also suggested to use antivirus programmes. – I use three antivirus programmes to clean my computer prior to signing in to a bank website – he said.
