Before deciding on the scope of information to be included in an ID card, one has to consider the way of securing this information - said Michał Serzycki, the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection during the interview given to Radio PIN.

The journalist Michał Tkaczuk asked the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection about his view on the proposal to extend the scope of data to be included in the ID card. GIODO talked mainly about the need to secure databases, in particular those containing many personal data. – Before deciding on the types of information to be included in the new identity card, one needs to remember about the need to properly secure such a database – stated Michał Serzycki. He did not refer to any specific solutions, because he has not received any draft proposal to express an opinion thereon from any ministry so far.
