Michał Serzycki, the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection explained during the talk with Kamil Olak that „as in the age of quick development of new technologies and dissemination of Internet a quick information flow, its combination and collection is possible, we should strive for our personal data not to be used without our knowledge and consent.”
- My aim is drawing attention to the fact that the use of any information which can be regarded as personal data, and which often includes digital traces which we leave behind us when using technological achievements, must take place in compliance with EU and national regulations on the protection of personal data and the right to privacy – said Michał Serzycki.
During the talk GIODO recalled that the Data Protection Day was established by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to take place on 28 January and is celebrated all around Europe. Poland as the only country in the European Union celebrates the Data Protection Day already for the fourth time not only in Poland, but also abroad in Brussels.
