Whose personal data are processed in Eurodac?

In Eurodac fingerprint data of the following categories of persons who are at least 14 years of age are recorded:

1. aliens applying for asylum,
2. persons who are apprehended by the competent control authorities in connection with the irregular crossing by land, sea or air of the border of the Member State having come from a third country and who are not turned back,
3. aliens found illegally present within the Member State’s territory with a view to checking whether an alien has previously lodged an application for asylum in another Member State.
