The electronic inbox of the Inspector General for the Protection of Personal Data (ESP-GIODO) is the way of electronic communication used for submitting motions, applications or complaints to the Inspector General in digital way with the use of publicly available telecommunications network which is mentioned in § 2 point 1 of the Regulation of 29 September 2005 of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland as regards the technical and organizational conditions of the delivery of electronic documentation to public entities (Journal of Laws no. 200, item 1651). ESP-GIODO automatically produces official confirmation of the electronic documentation delivery accordingly to the above mentioned Regulation. Using ESP-GIODO is possible only for those applicants who own the secure electronic signature verified by the qualified certificate according to Article 5 of the Act of 18 September 2001 on electronic signature (Journal of Laws no. 130, item 1450 with amendments), which would cause legal consequences specified by the Act.

Regardless of the introduced communication channels given by the electronic inbox, the persons who do not have secure electronic signature can use an e-mail.
